In total 29,978 staff (22,374 men and 7,604 women) are employed. Humanitarian, Development and Peacebuilding activities Challenges of being a woman humanitarian worker in Afghanistan Working as a woman in this field is very difficult in Afghanistan due to different barriers of culture and tradition. Humanitarian space, NGOs, Food security Commemorating World Refugees Day 2019 Afghan refugees are the largest protracted refugee population in Asia and the second largest refugee population in the world. ACBAR is in solidarity with all refugees and is working with its members to support on protection and basic needs to have a life in voluntary, safe, gradual and dignified manner to become self-reliant. In a conflict-prone country becoming injured with lifetime consequence is unfortunately frequent in Afghanistan.
